Buy only the octane rating that you need for your engine and pay the cheapest price that you can find. Most gasolines are generic blends and the special "additives" are only marketing hipe.

No loyalty here, I shop on price among the brand names and have never had one perform any better than the other. All gasolines are not "the same" but there is little difference in them and it's based on the additives. Generally speaking, it's better to go with a brand name. (The daily driver gets whatever is cheapest ... SSHHHHHH).

Sunoco 94 in my 11:1 daily driver. Shell or BP in a pinch.

The Vette has a low compression and runs ping-free on anything I throw at it. I generally use Sunoco 87. Shell or BP in a pinch.

That's what I do, especially with gas as expensive as it is. The car runs fine. No difference in performance that I can tell.

I get mine at Sams for all my cars. No problems. Usually 10 cents a gallon cheaper than anywhere else around.

C'mon Chris, this is a reason GSC3 would give. Do you realize on a $40 sale you save 8 cents. If you should not be right in your neighbor hood it could cost you 80 cents just looking for one of those brands.

Also..remember The Valdez...Exxon

For what its worth... Here in Canada you will see almost every major city have a marketing terminal. However, not every supplier will have a terminal. What usually happens is the terminal will lease storage space (ie. tanks) to different manufactures. Or the oil company will sell its gas to another company, ie. Shell to Esso.

Here in Canada I perfer Sunoco, then Esso(Exxon) after that I'm not sure. The oil tanks that I have been in (the large white ones) are a pretty good sign of what the gasoline is like. The Shell Oil tanks I have been in have major corrosion issues, seals are rotted out, etc. I believe there was some concerns recently here in Canada about Shell gasoline messing up the fuel systems in vehicles.
I also perfer to stay away from Ethanol blends.

2 percent of 40=.80 not .08.

I get 3 percent back on BP = 6 cents/gal @ $2.00.
