Muffler optios for 69 factory sidepipes
I would appreciate feedback on muffler options for 69 factory sidepipes. Current mufflers appear stock but VERY loud. Baffles are probably rotted out. I have heard you can use chambered pipes.
I am looking for the best combination of performance and reduced sound levels. Running stroked sb and factory manifolds.
Thanks!!

I cut the ends off mine to fix it and found just a few chambers in it.
I think there were 3. The chambers were seperated by plates with holes in them, hemholtz resonators?
Anyway stuffed the first one with ceramic blanket and it quieted down some.

If you have any fabrication abilities you can get some auger mufflers from Speedway motors and put them in a 36" or so 3" dia pipe and have a low cost, very good flowing, pretty quiet sidepipe muffler.
You need three augers per side and they are like $15 each...
