Default LQQking for parts (Body Drain plugs)Update!

Does anyone know where I can find the drain plugs that are in the bottom of the storage compartment for a 79. They are discontinued from GM I've checked Zip, CC, and Paragon. The ones for pre 78 will not work.

Thanks!

Update:

Thanks to those who checked in on this thread. I found a temporary solution. I did try the capet kit from Zip it won't work but I did measure the hole diameter it is 3/4 of an inch. At my local Lowe's Store they have a black plug 3/4 of an inch that fits perfect. The drain plugs are most likely a item that has only recently been discontinued by the General and the aftermarket people have not started making them yet.
Next month I'm going to Funfest at M.A.D. in Effingham and I'll ask them about them then.

Been there done it, and could not find any. So, I went to a hardware store and bought those wooden buttons the right size, painted them flat black and filled the holes. They look just fine and easy to remove, as they snap in.

Here in the states the wrecking yards arn't like they used to be. You used to be able to wonder around and find what you want. Now you have to place an order and they bring it to you. That is if they have it.

You think that is tough, try finding nylon bushings for the rear T-Top pins...the ones that go in the striker plate....

That's what I would have said too. Catalog says 77-78 is the latest one listed. Call the regular (not toll free) number and ask if they have the newer ones.

I'm sure finding the nylon bushings is tough but at least you can buy the assembly that has them in it. I just replaced the ones on mine and I bought the switch and all. I can't find any new drain plugs any where.

Are you looking for the solid block off plugs or the tubular drain type thingys? Bought a set of 5 plugs and 1 drain thing from Keen parts at Bloomington for my 79. Only used the drain piece. Still got 5 plugs if you can use em. Don't know that they are NCRS or just generic. Can look up the part nos. if you want, don't know if they are on the web, guy gave me a "CD catalog" with my purchase.
Mike

OK, looked up some numbers. I have plugs for 68-71, will see if they fit the 79. They do list "rear compartment plugs, all years", part no. 290369. $5 each(!). Their email is info@keenparts.com Will get back after I check what I have.

Looked at the 79, total of 4 plugs that I see, all of them are the drain plug type thingys. 3/4 inch holes. The flat blockoff type plugs I have will fit those holes if that is in fact what you are looking for.

OK, check out Ecklers part no. 26907, this is the style plug(similar) that I have to give away. But check out part no. 26906, this is the drain plug that is correct for the 79.
