Anyone else have any inputs or suggestions on this???
I just got a '71 roadster and need to know which vendor supplies the best/closest to OEM specs for replacing carpet, seat covers, and plastic interior parts; specifically the plastic around the gear shifter. Also need new valve covers, and engine decals.
Looking at Mid-America, Ecklers, Zip products, Year-one, Vanacors, Etc...
Thanks.

I have had good luck with Al Knoch carpet and door panels. I also have a Stayfast soft top to install from Al.
For my seats, I bought the 100% leather seat covers and full foam with installation kit from The Last Detail in Atlanta. They had the best price by far.

Corvette America interior from Wilcox Chevrolet (look in Vette Trader magazine for their ads.) The Last Detail has good parts and prices too. Dr Rebuild has the best quality engine compartment hoses, radiator seals, and other details as long as you can put up with custmer service. I haven't ordered anything from Dr Rebuild in a few years but other hose and radiator seal kits are JUNK! in comparison to his quality and OEM correct details/materials that will make the difference between a good running/long lasting car and a poor quality restoration.

Regardless of who you buy from, check the parts when you get them. I used to stock a lot of parts for upcoming projects only to find a good % of them were bad. months or years later it's hard to get exchanges. Some of the machined and stamped parts are total crap these days too. They look like they'll fit until you find out a botl pattern is off, or the tach drive gear wasn't machined correct, or the plating is peeling or rusted in the package.
I had "bad" parts from just about all the major suppliers over time, since they usually use the same source.
I even had a bad GM rag joint last week.

All of these vendors sell some quality parts. Most of them sell some stuff made in China because the market (you and I) demand it. That's why in my opinion there are a lot of really inferior parts on the market today. Chrome that looks good for a few months... then worse that the old original you replaced with it. Be careful, cheaper is rarely better... but it does sell!
Having said that, I've never seen the need to return a part from The Last Detail or Paragon. Both will be at Carlisle at the end of the month and are great to deal with. Great service and some of the highest quality parts in the hobby.
Good luck... GUSTO
