Default Quickest (Drag Strip ET) naturally aspired small block C3?

Is there anybody on the forum with a naturally aspired small block C3 (full frame car) that beats my best ET?? (11.05)
I know that there are a few big blocks and maybe some turbo/blown/nitrous small blocks..but I can't remember seeing any naturally asipred small block C3 that is that quick...
Is there anybody faster??

Yeah I think that was a little red FORD...

I have not seen any sbc c3 run that quick... if you go to a C5... yes I have! In person no less ! Ls1 with Heads Cam Stall Gears and slicks... run in the 11s like nothing... some to the 10s

Maybe a year from now when I can save more money for my vette fund. I may get there. not.

The LS1's and other computer controlled vehicles have a huge advantage.... you can't really compare the technology.. Our carbed engines are like dynosours compared to the modern engines

I'm actually gonna try 93 octane in winter.. We will see how the car is going to run with 93.... It might just work fine considering that the big cam is going to bleed off some compression..so my dynamic compression ratio is not too bad..

3 - 4 degrees should be enough..
I actually ran 11.38 with 50 degrees total timing..which was 14 degrees past the recommended 36 degrees.. I'd bet that I'll still run mid 11's on 93 octane...

You are right, you are showing your age N/A means no boost or other power adders i.e. nitrous. Fuel injection in N/A.

See..... I would've considered fuel-injection AS a 'power-adder'.....

I need to take my Geritol and go to bed.....

Very few people actually race on the track. Even fewer race as their main hobbie. Many members have up their hp from where the factory shipped it. You know as well as anyone, once you get to a certain point it takes more the horsepower to run fast. I for one do not have any desire to run it the 10's, not even in the 11's. If I had time, money and an intrest, things maybe different. In the mean time, we'll watch your posts to see if you ever break 11.

As a X drag racer of 20 yrs,(and not a daily driver car) I would estimate that for every $1000.00 spent on my engines or supension. I would gain 10th second. So just do the math from a stock HP engine at 14 or 15 sec. run. But I never could put a cost on me sleepin at the tree made me come in second though with 2000 plus HP (not bad)

It's a lot more money to make the car hold up to the horsepower that you'll need to consistently run that fast than putting an engine into the car that could make the car run fast if it had the components needed to hold up.. I just spent $20k on a all new setup.. The engine+accessories was only about $7k - 8k, the other 12k went into strengthen tranny and rear end.... Power isn't that expensive, but strength is...

It gets more expensive the faster you go..
A tenth for a 10 second car probably costs at least twice as what it costs for a 14 second car...
