Fixing the rear view mirror
The glass in my 76's rear view mirror has black blobs in the glass part and the outside case looks pretty bad as well. The outside isn't such a big deal to clean and paint, but is is possible to replace the glass? Or do you have the replace the whole unit? Finally, how do you get access to the map light switch to clean it? I haven't been able to figure out how this thing comes apart.

I would replace it with a new reproduction unit, they are cheap enough and look great. Try Corvette Central, Zip or one of the other restoration houses.

Best thing I ever did with my rear view mirror was take it off and toss it into one of my rear bins. You'll be AMAZED at how much better you can see out the front, and besides, don't forget the 1st rule of italian driving: "what's behind me is not important".
