Well, my wife loves the looks of C3's, but HATES to drive it. She doesn't like the looks of the C4's as much, but LOVES to drive them. So, I keep my C3 and it STAYS my C3. I would have just told her, "Well, I guess if I wanted you to drive it, I would have gotten the C4. So now you can just keep your grubby hands OFF my C3".

When MY 1st wife left, I gave her the '78 and I kept my 66 (of course! It never even entered into the divorce). A tree fell on the 78 while she was at church a year later, and she sold it back to me at half the price...there is a GOD! An easy fix for me. I had built the Sportwagon in the first place from a totaled out 78!

I get the exact opposite response from my wife....
She really likes the C1's thru C3's but HATES the C4's and C5's. Not even very fond of the C6's. I, honestly, can't say I disagree to strongly with her on the 4's and 5's...especially the 4's. 5's are ok. But I think the 6's are beautiful.

When shopping for our Vette, my wife told me I was not allowed to look at C4's and C5's because she thinks they're ugly. She doesn't like any Corvette made after 1982. I like the way she thinks. Now if only I could convince her to let me have some of my paycheck.

I got a good one !! Car too !!
When we were looking for a vette, it was almost more because of Janet than me. Whatagal ! We ran across our recent 82 and after deciding it was a-ok and the price was right - she jumped in with a check for the full amount. Said it was going to be hers, and I could get whatever year I wanted when I found it ---- so I'm the mechanic and now-and-then driver. I said I'd take care of insurance, plates, parts, and service costs (may cost me in the long run). She drives it like it should be driven (but harder than I like - knowing what's going on inside). She cleans off the bugs everytime we stop somewhere. Good Girl ! Now I'm in the middle of getting another C-3, of course, and a drive-on hoist for double stack storage.......help!!

OUCH......I love my 95 vert..my dad has a 68 bb vert and I love it too I love 68-72 c3's convertibles but the 74 and up and reallt the 80-82 look so cheesy like gold chain wearing 70's Mr. T looking cars to me.
hey now if you can dish it out you need to be able to take it! lol I don't see why people say they can't tell this is a vette i mean come on the c5 and c6 are the ones without the center gas lid and tight cockpit feeling...they were the ones to loose all that not the c4
the c4 is a fast sleek fighter jet cockpit feeling car that is BLAST to drive! mine stock has gone 13.2 @105

Love em all
I can't speak for everyone above, but as far as I'm concerned, the vet you've got is the one you love - until you get the next. Everyone has different tastes, and just because I like the style of the C3 doesn't mean I wouldn't jump at the chance to own a sweet C4, or any other. I just joined this forum, and I'd hate to see it turn into an old ladies bicker party. Chill, enjoy, race, whatever. Anyway, this is kind of a C3 thread, so we can carp or brag or opinion on our C3's. Not that everyone else isn't welcome. Just don't try to read between the lines. Pick on Fords or somethin'.......... (ooops, I got a Ford).

That is not way a true 'Vette lover would ever even consider thinking. I guess they just don't like Corvettes that are sleeker, faster ('92+), are fun to drive and not just look at, and can outhandle the **** out of their "vettes. ...their loss. They are just mad that the C4 is the generation that made the Corvette the world recognized sports car that it is still known as today. Now that I know how they truely feel, I'll reserve my wave for '84 and newer 'Vette owners.
