the gas tank



Hey arent the gas tanks different

i was told the sending units were in different places and the 390 was smaller

can anyone post a pic of a 435 tri gas tank

I recently converted a 1970 mechanical tach to electronic use.

In my repair notes is says "1970 LS5". I don't know what the LS5 option was though. Here is a picture of it just before reassembly:

Found a 69 vert. It supposedly has a 427 4 speed. Tach shows yellow at 5000 and redline at 5300. Console indicates 400hp. Is this correct?

LS5 is the optional 454 engine. Red line should be at 5600.

The sending unit is toward the rear of the car on the passenger side about even with the passenger side rear bumperette if that helps you any. I know when I had to order my reproduction tank it did take a different tank for the 4:35 than it did for the 390

As I was looking through paragon it looks like the 68 435 tank may have been different than the 69 435 gas tank
