Good suggestion - I really like this MSD distributor. I just helped another forum member get his '68 running last night - he just got a new Vacuum advance version (#8572) of this distrib. Very well made and easy to work with.
I'm running an MSD 8572 with a Digital 6 box and HVC Blaster coil. Very happy with the combo, but I'm also impressed with Crane's new all-electronic distributor (#1000-1501, http://www.cranecams.com/?show=brows...01&showAll=yes )
Of course, the down side to both of these is the need for a CD box to control the spark... Not sure if there is an electronic non-hei distributor that doesn't require an external box...
I used to have a Mallory dual point, tach drive distributor for Vettes. You could change the advance curve to suit different conditions. Pretty good distributor...
