Looks awesome. Good work. I just bought a buffer about 3 months ago also, still in the package. Just a little scared of it at the time. I may try it on my DD first and then move to something else.

Thanks Rich, Thanks to everyone for the compliments. I'm working hard to get her ready for Route 66 on the 16th & 17th.

I was skeerd too, but too the advice of forum members and used it on my DD first, it was a piece of cake using it. Just follow the instructions and make sure it's flat on the car before you turn it on and before you turn it off, and keep it moving, don't let it set in one spot too long (even with that its hard to mess up). I actually could have used a deeper cutting pad than the orange that I got with the kit, but then again don't want to go too deep.

Damn Fred, makes mine look nasty!!!

I'm going to spend tomorrow working on mine, but the underhood won't be as nice as yours...

BTW, I agree with the above post, you need to put the NXT on first, the carnuba is the last step for a deeper richer look. The NXT is for protection, and needs to bond directly with the paint..

I intended to use only the Mothers Carnuba but after the first coat I put some NXT on a small spot and it looked so much better so I continued with the NXT. Thing is they are both labeled "wax".

Check out Meguiars.com. I believe it's carnuba OR NXT. Nxt is a synthetic compound wax. New technology. According to them it's polish, on wet -off wet. Followed by 2 coats NXT. On wet -off dry. Followed by Quick Detailer between washes. I've followed thru with those instructions but stopped @ 1 coat of NXT. Pretty nice stuff. I'd like to try Zaino wax next. BTW , Meguiars says they will refund your money if you don't think NXT is the best stuff in your garage. I intend to put it up against Zaino system. I'll let you know what my experience is.

We can now get Meguiars in the UK so when the car comes back I can give it a try and see just what you guys are going on about!
