Default yeah we sandblast our frames and paint them with por15 but what about the inside?

A lot of these cars I've seen that came from up north seem to rust from the inside out SO we you guys do a complete restoration and sandblast the frame what do you do about the inside of it to prevent rusting? I've been thinking about this and basically the only way to really cover it is to have it dipped...has anyone done this? any special places that do this or what?

just thinking about what route to go when I decide to do ours one day

I used a modified garden sprayer to spray paint thinned down a little, inside of mine. It worked quite well. Then I spayed it full of a waxy rustproofing.

Got a question. When spraying the inside frame, how messy is it. I'm going to try this in a few weeks and am wondering what prep around the car I'll need to do.

It was quite messy, but I had the luxury of working with a bare frame. I also tilted it around a few times while spraying the let the paint run into the cracks and crevices.

I'll be working in a small area, body maybe 1-2 ft. above the frame. Should I shield everything with drapes around the car? My wife is a sug. tech and gets these drape that nothing will pass through, if I suround the car (bottom, sides) is that enough.

I would say that if you spend the time to mask off the parts of the car you don't want paint on, then you should have no problems.

Thanks for the help 7t2vette!!! Was nervous about the painting. With the wife being the bank, I need to keep the peace!

eastwood sells undercoating sprayers that are long tubes and have directional sprayers. that may give you a little more control. thinned dwon POR worked well on the inside of the frame. Of course the body was off. It did run out all over but that is what i wanted.
