squeeling from the passenger seat
My passenger seat squeals when I get on my accelerator real hard. I never hear it when I am alone but every time my wife is in the car I hear the noises. Strange?

Maybe the floor is contacting it when someone occupies the seat.

Well, it sounded like thye original question was serious ... and
everyone else replied with a joke. I dunno.
If my wife was squealing in the seat, I'd ask her to let me join in, too.
You're right though - after reading again - rusted springs are more likely.
Leave me alone ... it's 7PM and I'm still at work.

You are a lucky man!!!!!
Might be a rear u-joint from the passenger side; windows down and listen more unles you're sure it's only with the passenger in place.

I'm not real serious about it. The spousal unit likes cruising but not high speeds or fast acceleration. If I take corners like a vette should the squeal changes to a sharp intake of breath. It's best when she follows in the corvette support vehicle.

Get the same problem with my '81 (& there's no cat fitted). I thought that it could have something to do with me driving close to the central armco (we drive on the correct side of the road ) at high speed on the highway, maybe the air getting squeezed between the fender & the armco or something like that. A venturi effect due to the shape of the body? Only seems to happen when the wife is in the passenger seat though. I'll never understand aerodynamics or acoustics (or women)......
edit: In search of an answer I once mentioned it to a C5 owner. He said it was something to do with the Hamster under the hood getting stressed at high speed. Damned impertinence, such an offensive fellow

Another one would be at the central point between the speaker stacks at a Hawkwind concert (when they're on form!) as they launch into "Motorway City" (or "Psi Power" or "Levitation" or.....). (I think that one might be fairly personal!).
Another one would be somebody saying "Ah, looks like this Freehouse is well stocked with guest beers, all kept chilled in the 13th Century cellar. The drinks are on me tonight & I'll also shout a curry later".
All of the above would, however, be improved by the sound of a pretty girl squeeling, particularly the last one :lecherousgrin

i wish my girl would scream in a sexy way in the vette.
... instead I usually hear something along the lines of, "please, for the sake of all the saints in heaven, my grandparents, and all of my unborn children, slow the #$%^ down before I pee myself all over the inside of this really, really, really, really, really (ad infinitum) nice car!!!!!
does that count as squealing?
ps - i do ocasionally find little wet spots when she gets out. we know that the sweetness of a corvette is what caused them and not the fright. right? right? okay guys help me out here... right? ha ha!
