Default Pictures of the new engine bay on my 82

I haven't posted any pics in a while, I bought my 82 a several months ago for $2200 and I drove it home! It had a fairly straight body and no rust, but had been sitting up for a while so everything was pretty much rotted as far as carpet and upholstery was concerned.

Since then I bought a door panel / carpet / seat cover kit + new dash.

Here are pics of my newly freshened up engine bay. I ended up using the original motor instead of replacing it because it was still in great shape. I just cleaned it, replaced all the seals and added a fresh coat of engine paint. I either painted and or replaced almost everything else around it.

It had a carb on it when I bought it so I just removed the rest of the fuel injection wiring and smog equipment to clean that area up a bit.

I did end up getting a rebuilt 700r4 w/a shift kit and a higher stall torque convertor for kicks.

The old:

Looking good. Should be one heck of a bargain when you get it running.

WOW!! What a difference a lot of elbow grease can make. Keep it up and you will soon have a great looking ride.

Thanks everyone, My wife and I can't wait until we get it on the road to drive it.

I'm going to finish it up the engine and start on the interior as my winter project. I already have the new dash installed, my new seatbelts, carpet, door panels, and seat covers are still put up in my shop waiting when I get time.

I'm an old car audio guru/installer, I'm going to build some kickpanels to hold my Kenwood 6.5's and build a small enclosure in the rear to house 2 kicker 10's and a pair of small kicker amps, all covered in black vinyl to match interior.

I'm looking at some 17" polished zr1 or z06 replicas / adapters to slap on it, and hopefully by the end of next summer I can put it in the bodyshop for a new paintjob. I'm pretty excited about it.

Looks great. And just think, in another 23 years it will look like the old again and you get to do it all over again.

LOL,

I got plenty of practice working on my 88 S10 Blazer before I bought the vette. I hated getting rid of it, but only had room for one vehicle in my shop. I put a carburated 305 in it.
