What's the key mechanism on left fender?
Inherited the C3 and have intermittently wondered about how the little key/ lock mechanism works. Dad never used it. Manual is long gone. Have turned it "on" several times but can't seem to notice any effect. I'm assuming it is a security feature of some type but have not been able to get a straight answer. Experts, I'm all ears.

Ahh, so that's what that @#$()* thing is that was getting in the way of me removing the non-functioning power antenna...I've got a feeling that ALL of the parts related to the radio and the alarm system have been cut, because the previous owner couldn't get it to work.

Saw a '75 at a local "classic" auto store and asked what the little key lock was for on the left fender. Mechanic said it was the factory security alarm, said most of them didn't work much longer than the factory clocks did.
