get in touch with Bumper Boyz in Cali. They will send you a set of re-chromed bumpers, then send yours in for a core charge refund. I got mine a few years back from them and they look pretty good. Forgot how much it cost, but give them a ring.
Hold on to your seat. Now here's roughly the quotes I got:
$150-$200 apiece for the rears
$250-$300 for the front
$50-$125 apiece for the front guards.
I was able to find a place in Cleveland, OH that did mine for $650 for all in triple chrome. That was a couple of years ago. Cleveland is about a 3 hour drive for me so no biggie because I have friends and family there. If you have to ship your bumpers the shipping might offset any cost advantage you might find (also the risk of them being damaged in transit).
What is really disappointing is that I honestly think that if I brought in a couple of Mustang bumpers the cost would only be a couple hundred. The plating shops hear the "C" word and their cash register goes cha-ching!!
I had all of the bumpers on my 65 and the rear bumpers on my 71 re-chromed at Labrants (sp) in Harisburg Pa. a little over a year ago. The rears for the 71 were $175 each for show quality chrome. I was very pleased with the results.
i got a quote for 275 for both rears from a vendor at vette fest-best price yeat!!!!!!!!!!!!708-728-1005.........beford park illinois ,and he claims show quality A&R Custom Chrome Plating
