Had the same dilemma. Opted for my '73. Can replace everything from headlight to tail light and still have money left over compared to a Z06. Don't get me wrong . . . luv those Z06's . . . but no regrets!

I love my 73, but I met a blue 06 on the highway yesterday, I was so busy admiring the cars lines in the sun I forgot to wave. I gave a last minute nod. I love the new ones, but way too much coin for me.

love the chrome bumper cars and its half the price of a z06 (restored)and it will get more wows than the new one but the z06 its a beast and it also looks really nice but we are comparing a 30-35kto a 70k if i have 70k for a vette ill buy a68-72 35k vert (restored) and a low mls c5 z06 and still have a little change left over

I don't like the looks of the new vette's. I bought a C-3 because I love the body style. I think even less of the C-4 body style and was not crazy about C-5's but they've grown on me.

C3 all the way.....as indicated above..what do u want to do with the car? C6 Z06 costs a good penny....I'de pickup a midyear, a C3 and have some cash left over...The C6 Z06's will always be their. Harder and Harder to find good midyears and C3's......

You'll never get the attention in a Z06 that you'd get in a early c3. C3's are holding their value or going up, Z06 will drop like a rock unless you absolutely don't drive it and it still will loose some value. I'd have to agree with a previous statement, if I had new Z06 money I'd have a damn nice C3 and a mid year!

Heres my solution, get a used c5 and put a procharger f1r on it ,With a few mods you will be at 700 plus hp and still be able to get a nice c3 too.Now that would be awesome, by the way we have a new c6 zo6 coming that we are procharging ,will let you know how it turns out.

you cant compare a c3 to a c6. tottally different cars. as for styling i absoulutly love the c6. it makes me want to sell my c3 everyday. but ive got to much blood, sweat and beers in mine to ever part with it. would love to have a c6. big 632 idea of the c5 with a pro charger is right on, but the c6 makes the c5 look even worse than it already does. forget the c4 door stop styling. the c4 is right up there with the aztec.

the ONLY vette styles I like are c1, c2, 68-72, and c6's I dont see how you all who love early c3's cant like the lines of the c6, my guess is you just dont like change

To make such a great car like the C6, and make the front end so f'ugly--that's the problem.
A few subtle changes to the front end, and it tends to look like a Vette now...

A real nice C3 cost how much? $25K? That's less than half a new C6. If you can afford the C6, definitely get it. You can get a driver C3 to go with it for $6K.

Unless you have serious racing ambitions, a Z06 is just a big money pit. You are just front loading it 60k+. It is an awesome car that you can put about 30-40% of its performance to use on the street. Same as all high end cars. Unless you got the money to race and wreck a new one at the track, why bother? Most people just take their car out for a nice cruise. In that sense the Z06 is a big waste of money. I rarely see any vettes (even new ones) throwing down the hammer, even on the ON ramps!!! They are owned be older guys that just like to go the speed limit and look good doing it. That being said I would still like one, and may look in 5-6 years when they are cheap (relatively).
