buy 70-72 c3 or 06' Z06?????
Lately i've been starting to like the new Z06. But i cant really make up my mind wether to buy a c3 cheaper and then have money to fix it up like motor and all the cool stuff, or, buy a 06 and have a nice new car. I wanted to get some input from you guys/gals.

I think a lot depends on what you want out of it. If you want a good touring car to take on trips I would buy a ZO6. If you want something to cruise eveings and weekends and appriciateas you do it buy the C3. I just bought my frist C3 and I love it (it's a 73). The prices on the C3 are going up every year, so I feel it is a good investment now and I can enjoy driving it as I do some improvements. Gotta love them both though, wish I could have one of each.

I love my car. I bought it new in 1979 fresh out of college. We've been thru two marraiges, one divorce, two kids, and a military carreer together. When I run into people I haven't seen in ten to twenty years, they ask about the kids and that nice yellow Corvette. I cried when I had a fender bender back in 1985. Would I trade my first new car, my baby, for a new Z06???
Heck yes, and I'd throw in this 914 Porsche and Softale Harley too.
That car is badass.

You could buy 2 or 3 good C3s and have money left over for what a Z06 cost!
No vette looks better than a C3 - period. Plus, try working on a Z06 by yourself.
Seems like a no brainer to me.

Besides, if you bought the '69 and the Z06 today,
guess which one will be worth more and turn more heads in ten years.
Buy the '69 while they still can be had at a reasonable price.
'69 Corvette Depreciation over 10 years: NONE.
Z06 Depreciation over 10 years: $42,000.
(assuming purchase cost of $70K with a loss of 60% over ten years)
Insurance for the '69 will be at least half of what a Z06's would be.
Property tax--the State of NC thinks my '77 is worth $3800--I pay $27.12 a year in property tax.
Besides, until they change the front end design, it looks too much like a toad to me.
Shark or Toad, your choice.
Warning: If you're not married, owning a '69 Vette (or any C3) will severely
increase the amount of money spent on dating young beautiful women.

Hot dam......it sure does!!!
I even like the looks of some of the C4s better than the 06 cars. How about maby a Grand Sport roadster IF you don't go with a C3 ??? If you're like most the rest of us, depreciation on the newer ones sorta lessens the enjoyment. Just driving along on a beautiful sunny day, racking up that mileage and watching dollar bills peel off and fly away.......
They are vettes though...America's grand effort at engineering, sought the world over for their performance and styling. Every one a wonderful car. I've had six vettes now and have enjoyed all of them...at least the driving part. not so much.
