fully machined and prepped block
I came across this advertizement from a well known engine builder (not a supporting vendor as far as I know) who has a 2piece rear main seal, 4 bolt main block, magnafluxed, fully machined .030" over .... cleaned, incl cam berings and freeze plugs for .... no joke....$349 plus shipping....
I called the today and they told me it'll take 3-4 weeks if it must be .030" over, .040" and .060" are available for shipping this week....
Originally I wanted a 1piece main block setup for a roller cam....

The price dont' sound all that bad or unbelievable. The only problem I've got is that it is best to let your machinist match your block to the pistons. IE, your pistons may be .030" over but need .002" or whatever clearance. The only way you're going to be able to do this is to buy your pistons and let your machinst match the block to them. Otherwise, I'm thinking you could be disappointed or your need the equipment to do that last thousanth or so clearnce yourself.

i called them last night and to my surprise the guy asked me what pistons I was going to use and told me that my block would be machined after I placed the order... he also offered their pistons or rotating assembly..... however, I am sceptical how they can offer a machined block incl. cam bearings and freeze plugs for $349 -- one of the local machine shops here in Orlando quoted $700 to machine my old block
