Truflex bumpers and POR-15
i had an idea... i just got two new Truflex bumpers for my car. what do you think about coating the insides of the bumpers with por-15. i was thinking for extra strength or something. i am not sure what it would do besides waste some paint.
any thoughts?

The difference between POR and other paints is that POR chemically bonds with oxidized metal. I don't think it will bond to non-metallic objects (except skin) much better than any other paint.

POR binds to rough metal/surfaces, not necessarily oxidized if I'm not mistaken...someone mentioned it's sort of like superglue and cures w/ moisture. The rough surface is what makes the por paint adhere, it will peel off very easily on smooth surfaces. Rough surfaces incluse skin (don't ask LOL)

CAN POR-15 BE USED WITH FIBERGLASS?
Absolutely. POR-15 is fully compatible with fiberglass and can be used to repair cracks in gelcoat. It will adhere better than polyester resin and has greater strength. Use also with fiberglass cloth to make super-strong surfaces in rusted-out areas. But be aware that POR-15 doesn't contain styrene and thus cannot melt fiberglass cloth like polyester resin does.
i have already used por-15 in my wheel wells. i think the bumber thing is a good idea. however, i dont think i am going to do it though. im too cheap...
