Default Vintage "bullet" racing mirrors

Does anyone have any photos of this type of mirror on an early C-3?

I'm getting tired of my original driver side mirror losing it's adjustment at 70 mph. These vintage racing mirrors look too cool. Didn't they put these on the old L-88 race cars? I'd like to make it work with the factory mount.

No, but I've always thought that those mirrors would be cool on a C3. Almost went that route last time with mine, but ended up going with the stock style one last time. Hopefully somebody has done this mod.

I believe those are the same mirrors that came with most Bradley GT kits. Those same ones are on my sons and most of the others I see.

I had them on the front of my 68 MGB, they were very popular on MBB-GT, TR6, TR4 & the GT model

You might consider installing the mirrors that were installed on later year C3s (starting in 78?). My only concern with the ones you are considering is do they stick out far enough to allow you to see past the rear quarter fender peak. You may only need a new rear mirror as it sound like the ball joint may be worn. Mine will stay put up to a 100 or so.

Go to "advanced search" and select searching in the active threads and archives. Tons and tons of threads on mirrors.

Yeah, lots of threads on mirrors, but nothing on this type. I think I'll just get one to see if it will work or not. If not, it's going on ebay

I also got tired of the left mirror, I glued it, but it didn't help.
So I bought those on Ebay for $40.
It was not funny to mount them on the doors.
Took me three nights.
Had to loosen the windows and drill from inside for the studs/nuts.
You don't see so much in them but I like them.

You probably do just need a replacement original side mirror to fix this problem but I would also like to see these mirrors installed on a C3, and if you can actually see anything in them due to the "hips" on the C3.

I'm going to get that mirror along with a factory replacement mirror. I'm gonna try to make the bullet mirror work with the original mount & hardware.

Hi
I am considering the bullet mirror on my C3. Did it work for you and if so, how does it look? Regards Boe

My 66 had them my 69 had one but its off right now,
Ac cobras and gt 40s ran them, lots of non usa cars did.

While they all sort of look the same, they mount differently, some from inside some from out some the base is mounted then the stalk mounts to it,

Some ive had come apart and likely could be used on the stock stalk, actually not a bad idea,

When this subject popped up in the other tread i found these,

mirrors

the stalk is super sweet to me, but these are plastic and i like the chrome look,
