That's sad....c'mon...the C-5's are for going to the grocery store...that killer C-3 is for a nice fun weekend play time! It's all about the "cool factor" of the old Vette's......no use being just one of the crowd when you can be among the "head turners"!!

What's it going to take to get the C-3 going? We have a couple of months still.......Illinois isn't THAT far away!

See ya,

Jim,
Do you guys drive straight through or do you stop off in Memphis. I figure I could make the drive in one day on the way back with a couple of stops. Is anyone bringing a truck. I don't use carry a spare or jack. To much extra weight.

BE VERY CAREFUL BlueL36. This is how "The Temptor" works. He'll have you talked into a 632 and a Dana 60 for church socials. He's evil. Only a crazy person would drive a 850HP car from Houston to Bowling Green, race the dog out of it, and drive it back.

I'm not taking any long road trips until my rear end is re-done and that probably won't happen for 2 years.

My old girl likes to stay within a couple of hours of the house. Like 427HR said, "the C-5's are for going to the grocery store." Is there anything to drink I can get you Texas boys while I'm getting the groceries at CI-7? Looking forward to meeting ya'll.

Budman...we have done it both ways. The first couple of years we drove straight through..not THAT bad...but last year we decided to stop and play in Memphis which was a great time. We left cars at Hotel under check in canopy and caught a cab downtown. Usually we leave Sunday morning and drive staright through back home. Really doesn't seem that bad..but we're open for ideas.

Not sure on truck yet...depends on how much racing they'll let us do. We always take inventory among the group so that we maximize space and don't duplicate stuff as far as tools and equipment go.

Jughead..that thing looks way too cool to leave at home....what's wrong with rearend that we can't fix by May? You don't HAVE to beat on it when you're there..unless you want to!

BlueL36...well we have a tradition of providing free Jack Daniels to all comers....but I'm sure we'll need some refills, ice and snacks! But c'mon.....let's do the L-36!

Last year, we unloaded the lawn chairs and luggage and pulled to the line. Made a couple of passes on street tires.....got drilled by a blown Viper on drag radials off the line...but he sure was surprised when I went by him on the big end! Had 4 mph on him!!

This is going to be Soooooo FUN!!

Thanks Jim.

I work real slow and ran out of $$. I wanted to replace both trailing arms, change gears to 3.73's, beefy half shafts, the works. I only have some of the parts bought, have little time to work on her and Kentucky is about 900 miles away.

Someday Jim.

Hey guys, I'm a new owner of a 1980 Red coupe and wanted to know what you guys are talking about. I get it's a road trip, but where and what's the deal with it.

Can someone give me a clue?

CI-Vll = Corvette Forum Cruise-In #7. Look under Southwest section for details or go to National Corvette Museum website. It's an annual party in Bowling Green Kentucky for the members of CF. We welcome you to join our parade.

Len it is only 500 miles for you. At speed that is only 6 to 7 hours. I'm about 800 miles. I always have a family gathering at that time so I can't make it. Someday I will make a big event like this.
