Does anybody know where to get a taller than stock L88 hood or another good looking tall hood?

I'm building a 69 conv. with a bigduke/talldeck bigblock for the street.

You're right, they are not that good looking, not on a crome bumper C3 anyway, pretty hard to find a tall good looking hood (not pinned), so I guess I have to cut the sheetmetal intake down and use an ordinary L88 hood.

I have a cowl hood from vanacor, I put it on last summer and I'm still waiting to paint it. I'm not sure on the height but i think its slighty taller than an L-88 hood.

Vanacor has some nice hoods to choose from, how's was the fit....

The fit was pretty good. The stock hood fit better with tighter gaps but I like the extra height of the new one. I'll be happy once I get the hood and bumpers painted to match the car.

I spoke with Vanacor and they have a L-88 design that is 4" instead of 2 1/4" like the L-88. I intend to purchase one soon. tnbusa on this forum posted pics of his a couple of weeks back. Try a search or PM him...he has shared some good advice with me. He should be through with paint by now so I hope he posts pics soon.

Thanks for the advice, I'll call Vanacor and ask for a short version, I like the "old-school"/vintage look.
