Looks like a great project. I inherited a 1950 Ford F-1 pickup from my dad but I was lucky enough to finish it just before he passed. As much as I like my Vette that old pickup probably means way more than it should. I'm sure he'd be proud of what you're doing. Keep that old 2 barrel on a shelf somewhere you can see it.

we were going to do it as a father son project when he retired, as i have alot of free time from my profession (firefighter/emt) and we were going to tear it down and put it together...but now its just me but im not going to let anything stop me from making this car gorgeous...

Good luck ... not too much work compared to some of us.
Yeah - keep the 2bbl. When you win your first trophy at a show,
you could convert the 2bbl into a new base for the trophy.

My dad passed away in "04" and I inherited his 87 coupe that he bought back in "88". It is my prized possession. I would sell my C6 long before the "87". Every time I sit in his car, it's like the memories of him come flooding back, and sometimes it's almost like he's there with me.

You're lucky to have such a strong tie to him. Take good care of that Vette, it can bring a little bit of your dad back to you............
