Default How much would it take for you to see your little piece of heaven

found a note on my lady asking if I would sell my baby if the price was right. I thougt about it for a second then thougt of things more apealing like biting down on a metal file as hard as I can and pulling out word or shaving a few inchs of skin and muscle with a plastic knife while using lemon juice as a lubricant. But it lead to this tread HOW MUCH WOULD IT TAKE FOR YOU? Thought this would be a fun thread I did a modest(two tries) search and did not see anything but if a repeat my appoligies to those bothered!

I agree with $10k or so more than it's worth. To paraphrase an old Bill Cosby skit (father to son) "I'll kill you and it won't make any difference to me, 'cause I'll make another one that looks just like you".

This thread sounds like that old joke. A guy walks into a bar and asks the hot girl sitting at the end of the bar. Would you sleep with me for a $1000. she answers No. Then he asks how about $10,000. she says No again. So he asks a final time. Ok how about $1,000,000. & she looks at him and answers yes, why do you ask. He turns to her and says now that we know what you are lets haggle about price.

Like I said its an old joke.

I would take 40K for it. I figure it's worth low 20s. Then I would immediately go look for a car identical to the one I just sold and pocket the difference.

Two weeks ago I would have let OYeaLiz sell it for anything she wanted to.

We swapped her C3 for our 97 Coupe in Aiken, SC last weekend. She wants to race the C5 some and has more opportunities in FL, so she now has the C5.

Now that I have the C3 with me in Knoxville, put chromies and new tires on it, bled the brakes, adjusted the emergency brake, replaced a bushing or two....I think I am falling in love with it!

NOT FOR SALE (at the moment )

In a way I play this game with my insurance agent. My C3 is still in many pieces, but I fueled it and fired it up (w/o a body) the other day and thought I'd better get a policy activated on it again. I thought about what I wanted as replacement cost and decided $30K... probably twice what it's worth. The agent had no problem with that... pocketed my $$$ and life goes on.

I think (even after it's roadworthy) I'd have a hard time letting it go for that.

Keep in mind it is much easier to sell it when a buyer wants it and you don't want to sell it, as opposed to that time when for whatever reason you have to sell it.

I would guess maybe my vette is worth $25k, so I would gladly sell it for $50k... and realistically probably for $35k. I figure with the corvette forum and other vette contacts and knowledge I have now I could find a replacement. I have seen a few really nice vettes that I would have loved to purchase except I have no space!!

Priceless, two weeks after my father gave it to me he passed away.

No I am not a brat, me and my father shared a special bond, the love of vettes was one of many.

i would say that if someone offered me 30k for my car right now even though i know that i have put more into it than that i would probably take it and start another one with a big block and yes i would get a 76 again because that was the year i was born or i might go for a 73 sense it still has the front that i like but also has chrome rear bumpers which i also like. just like the cool red one on here with the licence plate from NY..... (i think) that says cool 73. i drool all over myself everytime i see pictures of that car

I would never dream of selling, but if some one offred me 30k I would do the same as the rest of these guys, buy another and pocket the rest. I figure another 20k vette then invest the rest wisley, double it (hopefully)or close to double it and buy a second vette.

Of course I would have to come up with a good excuse for the misses why we need two vette's. One vert and one vette, every body should have a least one of each

I'm too attached to my Vette & I have some mods to look forward to- it'd take a ridiculous offer to even get my attention. My 16 year old son just drove it (w/ me in it of course!) & I'm sure he'd like to see it stay in the family. The wife would probably have no problem w/ me selling it cuz it scares her. She's such a coward!
