Default G70-15?

What is the equivalent of a G 70 15 (20570r15)? I'm looking for the largest tire that will fit in the spare tire carrier. I have 255 60 r15's on the car (73 coupe) and they wont fit. This tire probably will never be mounted on the car unless the unthinkable happens.

How about one of those temporary spares on an aluminum rim that many GM's had?Very lightweight and should fit in the tub, just need to find one with close to same circumference as the tires you want to run.

If you drive with different size tires on the rear you can quickly ruin your positraction rear end.

Keep in mind that on a rim w/air the tire will expand. I have a 225/60/15 mounted in my spare tub fits fine. The 225/70/15 may fit.
I would try it out before you buy a tire & rim
