Default 17" tire suggestions

Looking for good tire recommendations for 17" TTII rims. Size I'm thinking of getting is 255-50-17. Any suggestions?

The Firestone Wide Oval series has been highly rated. Go to tirerack.com look up the tire and then look up the reviews. This will be my next tire. I currently have Firestone Indy 500 series and they are excellen also. Great traction and handling.

You didn't mention your rim width...

255s might be too wide with a 6" rim width and too narrow for a 12" rim width...

I run Eagle F1s in 245ZR45-17s on 8" rims all the way around on my '69. They are very sweet tires. I think Car and Driver rated them first in their last comparison test.

Oops, forgot that. It's the 8" width. I'm thinking of trying the Fuzion ZRi's. Anyone have comments on this brand?
