Okay, so I have a pair of Infinity Reference 4x6 speakers (6412cf) for the dash locations in my 72. My problem is that the mounting bracket that's in there currently does not match up at all with the mounting bracket that's attached to the speaker. Is there anywhere that I can buy a mounting bracket for one that will fit the other (i.e. a new dash bracket to fit the speaker, or a new speaker bracket to fit the dash)? How did you guys do this?
*EDIT* Oh, and I guess the dash speakers I have aren't original, because instead of 4x6s they're some tiny (3.5"?) circular design...funnily enough, also Infinity Reference

I put a set of infinity speakers in my dash , not sure which ones at this point , but the speakers had a multitude of mounting holes , none of which matched the 4 posts on the dash. I finally had to mount them slightly twisted and I also had to enlarge some of the mounting holes on the speaker base to get everything to line up. I also added some wire extensions to the speakers so I could get the dash in and out and still have some room to work with the speakers connected , helps on installation.
I mounted mine straight. When I was doing the install, I rummaged around in my dad's workshop and found a roll of strap steel, about 3/4" wide, with two different size holes alternating down the length. A few pieces of that cut with tin snips, and I was able to bolt the speakers to the factory holes.
