Default Headlamp Question

My car is in a state of being completely disassembled, not running, fresh back from being painted. I made the mistake of lifting up the headlamp doors. They are now in a raised position and won't go back down. Any suggestions on how to get them back down short of reassembling the car and firing it up?

Made the same mistake today,but was lucky the engine still runs so I could get them back down.If you need a vacuum source use a hand pump or maybe run a hose from another running vehicle,if you can get it fairly close.

if there completly assembled, theres a lever on each one that they can manualy be pulled down by. or atleast there is on my 69, im assumeing 72s have the same head light assemblys.

Reach under the front and operate the locking lever manually. It's a snap...
