Everyone is taking a little ride in the sandblasting cabinet

roof panel clips, which I will epoxy back in to roof trim panels and rear glass storage panel mount bolts, they also got a wire wheeling after that. I will dust some clear on.

Crazy? hack job? these are some little tricks I have learned over the years when doing consoles etc. before you tell me what a hack it is, wait until it is done....I did these in place, had some peeling and its inner foam exposted, did some body work to get the shape back, then coated with a hard epoxy so it will hold up, will sand and paint in place. Again not going for NCRS, but am certain will be good for a driver, eventually will pick up a new pair but for now need to get it going.

Not the best pictures...sanded, shaped the pillars to get them pretty close to original...pictures suck but you get the idea...visors got new pins and hardware, visors are original and got a good cleaning is all, they were in great shape.

Original mirror below, good housing other than being covered with stickers...the mirror was smoked, so instead of swapping mirror glass etc, for now, simply swapped in the spare that came with the car...not perfect housing but the glass mirror is..

Seatbelt buckle covers these were some type brushed metal, I was going to have them chromed but decided to go with a silver, here they are after a heavy sandblasting, now in high build urethane prime.

These were some type of brushed finished, was going to chrome them but want to set it off with some silver/clear so thats what they are getting after body work. These got a good blasting and smoothing

We know this project isn't NCRS but your steady work to clean up the salvageable pieces is a great reminder that if one is not blessed with excess money, using a lot of elbow grease on a limited budget can make old stuff look new again.

Your efforts will soon pay big dividends and we're all rootin' for you to enjoy the car when this stage is completed.

Thanks for sharing and good luck.

thanks, yeah it is coming along and even if I had the money to, I didn't want to do a high end build...though my Camaro isn't done yet, it is the type of car that I will likely be afraid to drive, nevermind leave anywhere, the Corvette will be a lot more fun I am sure

these are done in silver, very close to the push button belt receivers, so should look good on the freshly chromed buckles when they return
