I like the idea of looking at employees at the storage place.
As beat up as the car looks.........that didn't happen in 15 minutes.
Somebody or some group of somebodies spent some time to dismantle the car soooo....completely.
If they do manage to catch these people don't forget to file the civil suit. Crime may be punished by jail but, where this is only a PROPERTY charge the sentence probably won't be enough to make you feel like justice was served, so I'd be looking to hit 'em in the wallet too.
We all know how many hours of blood, sweat and tears it takes to get the car looking like it did..........this really is especially hard to look at or contemplate.
I'm sincerely sorry for your loss.
This is definitely as bad as it gets, short of an accident where you get hurt.

The sad thing is that modern day law enforcement probably won't spend any time with a big investigation.
In the old day's a small community would have tracked these dudes down and had a good ol' tar and feather party on friday night! But that was then I guess....

Actually, it looks to me like they were just trying to change the heater core for you and gave up before they finished.
All kidding aside, that f-ing sucks man. I hope you find the dudes and fry them to the best of your ability, just don't land yourself in jail.

Sorry for the loss
I was sick when I saw the pictures. I am sorry for your loss. There was a previous thread about buying the car back from the insurance company. If you look into it, remember that the parts can be reused in the new corvette that you pruchase. So the new corvette will have the "soul" of the old car. Just a thought. These type of things make me mad.
Also, if you have a keepsake from the old car, that can help you with the greiving process.
Once again, very sorry for your loss.

I got a cousin, Guido
that will help with these reprehensible #*&@%'s.
The thing I noted that what these heartless b$&*@'s did must have taken a lot of time(relatively speaking) and must have made some noise.
Like the previous post suggested, I'd take a look at the employees of the yard.
When the shop was restoring the body of my '72, I got a call just like yours on a thurs night. Fortunately, the bodyguy only used my tags on his car...but still scared the living heck out of me.
I'm very sorry for your loss, only a true Corvette-owner knows what you're going through.
good luck, Mark

I don't like it, I just don't like it! Robbers come in all shapes and forms. I have lost more than one vehicle to reckless uninsured motorists with no assets. In either case, they should have their b@ll$ cut off. I feel your pain.

Heres what I like to do the theives. Get them at gunpoint. Take them somewhere and tie them up and interrogate them. When ever they say anything first put out their eyes. A theief needs to see before he can decide to steal. Then cut off their hands (they need those take things)
Then when you continue with your questioning, since everything they say is a lie, cut out their tonque (they need a tonque to lie so they can cover up their crime) Last but not least, brand the word THEIF on their forehead so everybody will know what the scumbags are.
