Default New garage tool...

Been wanting one of these for the garage for a while. Tired of running inside and back to garage for info, checking email and, of course, checking on the forum. So, I bit the bullet

If I put a 'puter in the garage, the wife would never see me.
I guess that's what she will be getting me for Christmas.

That is one more thing I need to add. In fact I am wondering why I have a house at all. I already have a mini fridge, dvd, TV, stereo set up in my garage. And now I see that I need a computer too.

I can see where that would come in handy. I would get one of those plastic keyboard covers to keep the grease out of the keyboards though.

Got to have a lap top. I use it to keep track of stored parts, etc. on a spreadsheet. Stereo/CD for tunes

Plus microwave to keep the coffee hot and a fridge to keep the beer cold!

Jclgodale3:

Don't forget to check the battery first.
(although i assume dell is not shipping out any bad ones now).

Always nice to get something you want

more like:

WHOO FREE SPARE BATTERY DUE TO PANIC OF STOOPID PEOPLE!!! (tell em you tossed it and keep it for 2nd battery)

durn it, my Dell Lattitude Lappy purchased in the recall-window isn't one of them

um, yeah, anyway wireless lappy and CF helps out bigtime when your car is in the shared-garage of the apartment building and won't start.

Yes...got it. Yes it fit. Only one of the 4 original support brackets that mounts to the core support needed any modification. No driving experience with temps yet because I'm trying to upgrade my alternator. Let it idle for 45 minutes in 95 degree sun and never got over 183 degrees.

Yup...now Apple announced a recall as well. The batteries are made by Sony and have nothing to do with the laptop by either having issues. Sony will foot the bill

A computer is great in the garage. Now I can get help from the forum while I am working on the Vette. Also great since I have all my spare parts on an inventory because I forgot what I had and was buying parts I already had. I have everything on an Excel spreadsheet now which allows me to search for parts. Everything is in plastic numbered bins so I can finally find anything I need instantly. Computer also comes in handy for playing music and checking e-mail.
Between the stereo, fridge, coffee warmer and computer, only reason I need to go in the house now is for the bathroom. Maybe I should order a PortaPotty,,,,,,

I'm using an older IBM Thinkpad, 256ram, 20gigHD. It's kinda slow, but it was free. My wife is tight with the IS guys where she works and she brought it home last year. I got it connected to our wireless network.

A cordless laptop in the garage would get lost out in my garage or broken. I need more room no doubt. I am just a little jealous. A laptop would be great with my LM-1.
