Default car lifts

I've been looking for a 4 or 2 post lift. What do you guys have and would you buy the same lift again? What brand would you guys recommend? I got a Backyard Buddy demo tape and it looks pretty solid compared to some others. What dou you guys think? Do you have preferences to 4 or 2 post models?

got a 2 post here... best purchase ever made. Bought it from Autolifters of America but they went out of business soon after. They could not keep up with the Chinese imports.

My one word of advice... spend the extra few hundred bucks to get a unit made in the USA. Our safety standards are much higher, quality construction with quality steel.

I'll post a pic later, cant get to photobucket from work.

and oh yea.. you'll make a bunch of new friends if you get one.... just ask Corz (he'll be over tomorrow to use mine!)

I'm in the process of planning a shop I will build this fall. I'd be interested in hearing some manufacturers names and models as well.

My Bendpack 9XL cost me $3400 installed. Well worth the $400 installation cost. Best purchase I've made for the house, for me, for my cars and truck, period.

I saw the 4-post lift from these guys at Carlisle:

http://www.superlifts.com

It appeared to be designed and built well.

I have an Autolifters 4-post lift. I'm very satisfied with the way it is constructed.

They were out of business for a while but the employees purchased the business and are once again producing/selling lifts. Their new web site is not exactly confidence inspiring but I'm sure their products are just as good as before. http://allamericanlifts.com/

I do not believe that AutoLifters went out of business because of Chinese competition as reported. I think it was mis-management. They had so many orders for new lifts that they always stayed at least 2 months behind on production.
If Chinese competition was truly the demise of AutoLifters, why would the employees purchase the business?

If you try to decide which type is better, two or four post, the only right answer is.... BOTH!

Good to hear they are back in business... Definetley a quality product. Very happy with my 2 post. If I remember correctly, it was around $2400 delivered... My pops and I had it installed in a day, and had the electrician in the next day to wire it up.

Seriously the best investment our car/workshop has EVER seen.

Regardless of why they went out of business.... GET ONE MADE IN THE USA!!! Not just because I'm patriotic (I am), but for quality, and most importantly SAFETY.. both your car and yours.

Yep, outside. It never rains here, and I can pressure wash the underside of all of my vehicles. Great visibility and lighting. No room in the garage. Why do you say "damn you overpaid for that one"? I think I paid a fair price, and it's worth twice that.

AutoLifter Asymetric Truck lift (9,000#/27,000# capacity). Cost $3,000 and $300 to deliver and install (and prices went down afther that). Best auto investment I made!

If you can spare the headroom, "clear floor" is definately the way to go.

I've got a 2 post asymetric custom height 9000lbs lift. The company is now called targetlifts.com. I am very pleased with it. It is made south of Fort Worth, TX. I have been to their facility, they weld steel, they don't sell bought pieces. Most of these lifts require a 12' ceiling, but these guys will custom build any height. 5 years ago the custom charge was $100 & the lift was under 2k, but that was 5 years ago

Default Mowhak A7

I've got a Mohawk A7. I purchased it used from the local distributor. $2500.00 installed. New they are $5000.00. It's USA made and works like a charm.

Default why?

Why give the guy a hard time after the fact? If he paid more than you, so what. It's kind of rotten to try to tell him now. It may have been a longer frieght delivery. Maybe you got a deal through your buddy or something. It doesn't matter now.

My suggestion is a lift made by Rotary Lift. Check your local service stations and see what they have. Rotary Lift is made right here in Madison, Indiana and is known world wide for their quality lifts. They have both 4 post and 2 post models. I believe their newest 4 post model is the "Revolution". I will tell you that they are not the cheapest lift you can buy, but if you don't mind paying a little more for quality then they are the one to buy. You can find them at www.rotarylift.com. I live in Madison where they are manufactured and where their world headquarters are located. I'm not and employee but recently built a 3 car garage with 10' ceiling just for my '75 convertible. Once I catch up on paying for that my next addition to it will be a Revolution lift from Rotary Lift. Check them out, you won't be disappointed.

I second that. I bought a Rotary/Revolution 2 years ago. No regrets. the others are all toys IMHO.
