Emergency brake repair 1976
I am repairing the emergency brake and took apart the old hardware. However I can't get the pivot lever out, which goes through the backing plate/dust shield. I thought I'd take off the shield so I undid all of the nuts, but there is a bolt at the top. I undid the bolt as far as I could, but it hits the hub and won't come off. I'd like to get the shield off to get the pivot lever out and to clean the area but how in the world does that bolt come off?
Any help is appreciated.

I'm not sure you can get the dust shield off without totally disassembling the whole spindle assembly. That lever should be easy to remove however, even with the shield in place.
