Yes you can really see that in those pics. This is why it is so hard to pick a wheel from pictures, I thought someone on this forum had the JYD's on their Vette, I know someone has the Smoothies.
Anyway with regards to the wheel finish, are they clearcoated ? Or in other words how long does the finish last before I have to start polishing them.
I am goint to phone Coys on Monday I really like the fact that you can get their C5 in a chromed version, I really, really hate polishing wheels

The Coy's C-5 are really nice. That's what I plan to get for my '82. I like the smooth lip and the added touch of a hidden valve stem on them.

Hey Wayne, my buddy TNBUSA has a set of Coys on his 70. They look awesome. Let me see if I can find a pic of his Coys and I will post them i the thread for you. His have the gray centers in them.
I would agree that these are slightly better than the JYD but lack the hard line that would flow with the lines of the car. i recall someone mentioning how sexy our C3s are, eh!?

I hope they ship to Canada. They do look good. The valve stem is the center of the wheel and off the lip. One of my favorite features of the new wheels coming out lately.

OK I ordered the Coys C5's in chrome, that didn't take too long now did it
I am getting 18 x 9.5 with 5 in. BS and 17 x 8 with 4 in. BS
Anyway I got to talking to Randy Coy about my car and the wheels I wanted for a few minutes. Then I asked if he shipped to Canada and he said yes. I was suprised but after talking for a few minutes I guess he decided he would ship them up here.
He said he would put me over to his son to take the order. His son asked for address and the first thing he said was "Sorry we don't ship to Canada". I told him his dad just told me he would and then he took my order
It will be a few weeks, not sure at this point if they have any made (18x9.5's ) and then they send them out to get chromed
Mine were a custom build too. Coy's only took a couple of weeks from order to my door. Not too long of a wait for a custom piece in my opinion. I bet you are so stoked that you'll be working late (if needed) to put them on once they arrive!!!

I have been trying to decide on wheels for some time now and yes I am pumped.
Deciding factor for me was the chrome, I have chrome wheels on my Turbo PT Cruiser, they are 3 years old and look new. They are easy to take care of, you don't really have to do anything. I hate, no I despise cleaning aluminum, especially wheels with little rivets all away around the circumference. SO chrome it is

I hear ya man. Wheels aluminum wheels take a while to clean. I bought one of those power ***** to help, but it still takes time to do it right. I'd rate cleaning wheels right up there with yardwork and doing the dishes.
Sorry i am a little late to this thread. I have the Smoothie II's and I love them! No they do not have a step from the tire to the rim. They are smooth through and through. The old Smoothie's did have a step but the SII's do not. I chose the SII's over the JYD's because I liked the wider spokes. Other than the spoke size I did not see that much of a difference. Check my signature and do a searc on my screen name and you will find more details on the size as well as fitment and a lot of pics.
