My New '71 War Bonnet Yellow (pics)
350/270 base engine. this thing is stock as a block except for the tires which are 245/60 fron, 255/60 rear. it came with turbine hubs, i bought repro rally trims and caps. painted 4 years ago. engine rebuild 5 yrs ago (not sure what extent). runs like a charm. 105 k miles and counting.

Very nice looking vette you have there. I am not a big fan of the P02's and like the ralleys better, but don't get rid of the P02's. Keep them, they do look pretty good on that color car.

thanks all - ok ok. fyi, although the PO2's are original (not repro) they aren't number's matching or anything. personally, historical value aside, i really have a aversion to hubcaps (i know the rally's are *kinda* hubcaps, but still). i was planning on selling the PO2's, actually. i fiugred i'd use the money to buy a repro cassette player (of course the original am/fm, which still works(!!!) i will DEFINATELY keep!

Very nice C3. You will enjoy it, I'm sure. Are you going to leave the "egg-crates" black, or repaint them the original color? [They look nice either way.]

to be honest with you, i actually didn't ask! but it definately was nice as hell and had "YSC" on the front. the guy i bought the vette from, (the owner of the dealership) was really a super guy. more classic car collector than "used car salesman"... and i've dealt with plenty of 'em. (if you want contact info, let me know)

at first i was going to either strip them and leave them silver or repaint them... then i decided i kinda like them that way! that's really the only thing about this car that was ever modified... besides my tires, which kinda don't count.
