68 spare

I recently found a 68 rim (AG) with a bias ply white wall Goodyear "Speedway" F-70 15 tire (mounted on the rim black side out). Could this be the original spare tire? (I know the rim is right)... I'll probably get rid of it, but just wanted to know. Thanks, John
