I am looking at buying a 1971 coupe 350/270hp. It is mostly original with no options and 32k miles and very clean. The asking price is 25500, can anyone please tell me if this is a decent deal.

Carefully check out frame rot, rust, and previous damage, condition of brakes and suspension, and obviously make sure everything works.

If you haven't done any of that I would in no way ever spend that kind of money.

That sounds kind of high to me, unless the milage is low, all the #'s match, clean frame & bird cage, and there's lots of documentation and repair receipts. How's the paint, interior, fiber optics, mechanicals etc. All should be in very good condition for that asking price.
Post pics if you can.
Good luck,
Glenn

If that mileage is correct and the car is original, not needing paint, interior or body work and the frame is clean the price is in the ballpark. Good luck

Is the "no options" an attraction to you? Some folks prefer them loaded up.

Not looking to rain on the parade, but if it's only "mostly" original with no options, I don't think it's worth $25.5K. The $18K - $20K range sounds more like it to me.

Thanks for the opinions. I have not viewed this car as it is in ND and I am in WA. I will offer 20k and walk if it is not accepted. He has agreed to take the car to the local Chevy dealership before money changes hands.
