When I did mine I used masking tape. you can use blue painters tape and cut it to size with a razor blade or go to an automotive paint store and buy the thin striping tape and there won't be a need to trim as much

I just painted the whole thing, let it dry overnight, and used a razor blade to carefully scrape off the paint...and I also used a micro paint brush with thinner, then wiped it clean with a rag.

Here is an interesting thought for your grill. How about using the insert from a 55-57 CHevy Bel-Air. I saw it done somewhere on a C2 and it looked great.

Hey Jeremy, I just wanted to say thanks. I'm a rookie as well with 2 years into a 61 restomod. I have the chassis done, excluding engine and tranny, and have been focusing all my attention on the body for the last several months. I've given up on patching things and I've come to the realization that I'm going to be better off taking it apart panel by panel and redoing the entire thing. I've probably just added at least another 6-9 months to an already long project. Instead of having what I thought was a fairly solid body, I will now have a giant fiberglass panel puzzle! Mike may be the one teaching you, but you've been teaching me. I can't even begin to tell you how much your site has helped me with my project. Thank you so much for the help! Keep up the great work. I can't wait to see you start prepping for paint!

Hey guys.

If anyone here has a pair of used seats they want to sell, please send me a PM. I made a post in the parts section too.

I don't care how bad the foam or covers are. Those parts are going to get replaced. My main concerns are the seat frames, tracks and springs.

I'm trying to slowly get the interior parts together as the budget allows.

You might want to go with a c5 seat or something like it.c3 seats are uncomfortable and they are extremely heavy and dont look as good.

Fiero seats are another good alternative. They have been done many times on this forum.

Hey guys. I've found that an original interior, restored to the highest level, looks amazing in these cars. Even the original seats. I'm talking about everything looking brand new inside...but it will still all be original.

That and the fact that my dad wants me to keep the interior original to the car. He is going to be driving this thing as much as me when it is complete

AAAARRRRRGGGHHH who wants to fly to Calgary and help me with this thing?

By the time I'm finished work every day, I have no energy left to work on my own project!

Welcome to reality. Wait until you throw a wife and a couple of babies into the mix. Then see how much time you have.

Did you include the little clip on the ashtray door. Over the years these little clips seem to disappear. On my 74, everytime I nailed the gas the lid would slam back and make a "clink" sound. Just figured whiel you have it apart you might want to add the clip if one is not on there already. It has been a number of years back but I believe I ordered mine through Corvette America.

This made me laugh. My '82 did this every time I hit the gas. That's way too funny.

Default 82 Seats

Hey Jeremy,

PM me when you get a chance, I have a set of seats out of an 82 Corvette that you might be interested in and I live in Denton TX which isn't to far away from Mike's.

With tires as big as those, you'll be glad you have seats with some side bolsters.
