I'm new to the C-3 world, I've always loved the body style but started with a C-2. My wife wants a sports car so I've talked her into getting a Chrome bumper car, she has agreed as long as its a automatic.
I found this car on ebay but the owner isn't much help. He doesn't want to send any additional pictures he says he's getting a ton of calls and if he sent them to one he has to send them to everyone.
I'm in Dallas so looking at it is going to cost some money.
Was wondering if someone had looked at it or if someone was in the area that mite be able to take a look.
I don't know how to copy the link so here is the item # 230212644045
I'm getting pretty pumped about getting a C-3 they are great looking cars.
Thanks for any input.
I WOULDNT PASS ON THIS TOO QUICK. PICs NOT SO GOOD BUT PAINT is supposed to be 9 out of 10 and engine compartment looks really nice. rest of car probably is too. dont know what his reserve is but i paid 30k for a simular car in better shape maybe but if his reserve isnt too high this could be a really good deal. as far as sending pics he could be like me and not too good with computer. and everyone gotta start with no feedback on ebay. if he had really good pics maybe this car would be at 25k or 30k, who knows. send him an email and ask him what he gotta get since it may not hit res. ask him for his ph. # good luck.
It has the very rare one off protectoblate....the car looks nice, maybe the guy was watching the BJ auction and is trying to cash in on the attention that the ZR2 got. I would be very hesitant to buy from a new e-bay member.

I agree with those above. No feedback, unwilling to send more pics, and his pics on ebay are not too good. He has other cars for sale. If he was a pro he would have feedback and better pics and he would be happy to send them to anyone.
................I would walk on this one.....................

personally,I would not buy a car I cant see from a seller who isnt much help.Even if it ends up being a good deal, the odds are greater it wont be.There are a lot of cars out there in that price range that will have helpfull sellers.
Also keep in mind, if he doesnt want to help now ,what will he do if you have a problem????????STAY AWAY
Lot's of nice cars for sale where the seller's not trying to hide anything. Keep looking and find an honest seller willing to work with you.
Pass on this seller and car.
To me, this has scam written all over it. Zero feedback after two years? $2000 deposit through Walmart? Cash on pickup? No checks of any kind?
If it was legitimate he wouldn't put on such rediculous terms.
Also, no pics at all of the frame. that would be a concern for an Indiana car even if everything else looks perfect. Over $17k already and could end up wort around $5k if the frame and/or birdcage is rotten.

If you are truly interested in this car I can check it out. I live an hour from Anderson. I will not be able to go today. You can PM me if you like if can make some arrangements with the owner concerning price and viewing. Earliest that I would be able to look would be late next week. I have other committments prior to that.
Folks that make a business of not-quite-scamming car sales know how to get/make Protect-O-Plates and use them as a confidence selling point. Anyone wanting to sell a car over the internet prepares the necessary digital photos required and sends them in bulk to whomever, no real problem. If someone balks at the photo request, forget it.
It could be a legitimate "oddball" seller who doesn't know what he's doing and has a good vehicle at a good price...but can't prove it. Are you willing to gamble?
A lot of good points, I'm not trying to talk myself into the car, but If I'm having this much problem getting info than so is everyone else.
He just seams to be a grouchy old man that doesn't have to sell.
He wants cash only because he doesn't want to report it.
He wants 30k for the car so I don't think its a scam.
Tux,
I really appreciate the help, I will keep in touch this week to see if I can set up a visit.
Don't be so sure about this fellow. I reviewed what he has to sell on EBAY. He is also offering up a 69 Camaro, a 69 Chevelle, and a 57 Chevy 2dr hrd top. All are B/B and all look pretty nice. My guess is this fellow runs some type of muscle car restoration business. Too early to tell. With some luck he will reply to me and I'll give it a look & see later on this week. My guess is though that you aren't going to purchase that proverbial barn car from this guy. As you said he knows what they are worth and I think he is going to expect somewhere close.
Selling items on EBAY can be overwelming with questions and such. If this is one of his 1st few ventures in doing so he may not have expected the responses he is getting and may very well be adgitated. I say this because he has been a EBAY member for several years but sold very little. None the less it is what it is and we will see where it goes from here.
