I took the plunge
Well, it took about three years of searching (that's half the fun though, right?) but I'm back in the C3 family. I sold my C6 two years ago and have always wanted another chrome bumper car. I've been lurking on this site for quite awhile picking up tips and information. By the way, I feel a lot more comfortable here than with the C6 crowd...
So, I found a 1970 Daytona Yellow corvette convertible that had just undergone a two year frame off restoration. It's probably over restored by NCRS standards but it has all of the original and correct numbered major components. It came from a private collection and has just over 200 miles on it since the restoration was completed.
The car was a one owner car that came out of Florida and they chose it for the restoration because it had a dry frame, a no hit body, and was pretty highly optioned; L46, M21, tilt/tele, power steering and brakes, and power windows.
If I can figure out how to post pictures, I will post a few. Too bad its 8 degrees in Michigan today. I'm dying to go for a ride.

First thing - Welcome back
Second thing - Why did you get rid of the C6. Most guys here want to get too, where you came from. (I'm not talking about the forum)
Anyways, again welcome back and do a search on posting pics and you'll be up in no time.
BTW we love pics

hey, what's the temp got to do with it, as long as the roads are clear, have at it! The grass here is covered in a dusting bu the roads are clear, I think I may have to take the Vette out today. Cold as heck outside, but nice and sunny.

Here are a few pictures. I would love to own several vettes but my pocketbook won't allow it. I also have a couple Harleys so I had to cut back a little or I was going to end up living in one of my cars.

Thanks for the welcome. It's good to be back. I'm going to drive the car, that's what they're made for right? I intend to keep it in nice shape, but its going to be on the road and I'm going to be behind the wheel with a big smile...

I'm planning to drive the car often. I will keep it in nice condition, but it isn't going to be a trailer queen.
I've purchased three cars from Mershon's in the past 15 years and each time its been a good experience.

I frequent Mershons. They have some nice cars and do quality restorations on them. Apparently they like your car too they still have it shown as "Just Arrived". Congradulations!

I don't think the car lasted 24 hours from the time Mershon's received it, to the time when I bought it. Apparently, they bought the car from one of their customers who is a collector and had restored it.
When I called on it and told them I was intetrested, they held it for me until I could get there to see it in person. I drove down from Detroit, which took about 4 hours, and they had already taken two deposits on on it. Once I saw it, it didn't take me long to decide that I wanted it.
Its a very nice car, but I bought it to drive it and enjoy it.

Wow...that is too nice...
I'd be afraid to get it dirty. I try to keep mine kinda nice, but don't know what I'd do if I ever got it that nice....which shouldn't be a problem since I do take it out and get it dirty.

I know what you mean. It's going to get a little dirty and show a little wear but that's okay. Sitting next to a showcar and dusting it off every half hour isn't my thing.
