Bike frames are "round" structures which are inherently strong by design. Hoods are long, flat panels which are inherently weak. Have you made any hoods for C3's out of carbon-fiber? How much do they weigh?
No I have not made a hood for a C3. I have made other things with carbon fiber but have yet to make a hood.
I was surprised when I couldn't find any manufacturers here in the States either. with all the race cars and so-on here, I thought it would be just like searching for any other car-piece.
this is my buddy's hood after unpacking:

Wow, I didnt think this thread was goona go anywhere really. thanx for all the input and opinions. I checked with thie guys at cynergy Panic, they got somethin coming out for the 68, a full body though I think. That Camaro looks pretty sweet , wonder what the weight loss is?...
The site isn't very developed, but if you look at the parts link you can get an idea of the cost of certain parts. The cost would be much higher for one off parts, of course.
He's a Ford guy and does lots of Mustang parts. I think he'd do Corvette parts too if there's a market for it. He's doing the bodywork and paint on my 69, and he's a great body guy. His carbon fiber and fiberglass body parts are top notch.
BTW, if you read the Dynomax Power to the wheels article, 2 guys mention Dan in their thanks (one of them is a C5 Vette, and the other is a Nova). His drag Stang is sponsored by Procharger and he's very good at setting up cars with Prochargers too.
