Have you lost your fan speeds?

Under the hood in front of the passengers side firewall (top).

The electrical connection part is what you will see, the curly looking "pig tail" looking dealies are inside the housing. I hope this helps you, if you remove the part you will usually find one or more of the curly things burnt out, or maybe you just have corrosion on the connections. Peace,,, Moosie

If you are talking about the one for your fan speeds, it's located under the hood on the top side of the air-box. It has an electrical connection and the flange of the resistor that seals to the air-box has a diamond shape to it.

If you have "HI" speed on the blower, but not the rest of the speeds, check your fuse block. The "HI" blower fuse is separate from the others.

just went outside on a break (at work) & unplugged the resister & plugged back in -no go- no fan at any speed

i did a blow-up of the fuse panel, on the photo copy machine & will try to recheck the fuses (i think the heater fuse was a 10A)

i'm off tuesday so removal of the resister will happen that day, with a run to a GM parts dealer (i may try sandpaper on the prongs 1st)

thanks for the comeback !

That can't be fun; driving home from work in TO in January without a fan. Watch yourself.

I was more concerned with you being able to see out the windsheild.

Years ago I drove to Toronto from Guelph in my 77 Camero with the same problem . I drove with both windows wide open to keep from icing up on the inside. My roommate spent half the trip scraping ice and frost. Not much fun. Ended up with a snow drift in the back seat too.

Replacing the resistor fixed that one too but i didn't know that at the time.

i always have the drivers window down-drives the girlfriend crazy lol

my feet get cold 1st-when i start using both feet for braking - its time to stop/ go inside to warm up

its like driving a sled (snow machine) with no helmet on ...now if i took the tops off , the cops would be askin me to blow into the little tube...
