1982 GM Shop manual index
For the last 18 months I have been cursing the crappy index in the GM shop manual ..... So I wrote my own.
It takes the single page index in the manual to an 8 page , 700 line index of every "Highlighted topic heading" on each page , so it is even more detailed than the index at the start of each chapter (which annoyingly , doesn't cover all of the stuff in the chapter , and has some page ref errors.)
It is in excell spreadsheet format and so you can sort the data in any way you like . I currently have it sorted alphabetically by chapter and also (and IMO more usefully) alphabetically by description as topics/parts are covered in more than one section.
My plan is to sell the files off on ebay for squillions of $$ and then retire to the caribbean on the proceeds ...... seriously though , if any of you guys have an 82 and an 82 GM shop manual then you are welcome to take a look at the file and see if it will be of any use to you - let me know if you are interested.
Alternatively , does anyone know of a way to upload the file to a site somewhere so that I can just post a link and anyone that is interested can go to the link and download the file (similar to photo hosting sites?)
Oh - and before you say it .... Yes I do need to get a life and get out more but this sort of thing drives me nuts .... Assembly manual next

No problem - Its a lot of work but I think will make the manual a lot more useable and so I figure the more people that have access to it , the better value I get for my time.
