Default How do you read the tags on the seat bottoms?

I have a couple of C3 seats for sale and they have tags on the bottom. How do you read the tags? Will they tell you what year of car the seats came from?

I have the seats out of my '70 right now and there are no tags on them, and judging the foam coloration they have not been rebuilt.

Sorry can't be of more help.

I asked the same question 2-3 months ago and got no response. My 1971 has metal tags on the bottom of the seatsreading #3974001 and under it L81 m 0111. Still wonder what these numbers mean????????

I noticed the same thing under the seat of my '72, metal tags. Would also be interested to know what they mean please.

It seems that the tag information was meaningful to the parts supplier at the time; but that information doesn't appear to include date codes, trim option or other useful information.

I'd love to be wrong, but I've never seen any information to decode the tags.
