...wait til he is a little older??? I've been taking my 4yr old granddaughter with me to events the last 2 & 1/2 years. Have a child seat that fits right into any one of my C3s.
I can't think of a better way to bond with your son or daughter but through a hobby such as Corvettes. My son will be 2 in June and he's already wanting to help Dad turn wrenches and get his hands dirty. My daugher is 4 and she plays in my '98 and pretends to drive it. What parents do early will stay with them forever. It did for me so spend as much time with your children because..... time flies!
My son loves to ride in the Vette. He couldn't wait to get in it the day it was delivered.
It's great to spend the time with him, though last week when I was installing my backup light switch, and asked him if he wanted to come under the car to help, he decided to play basketball instead! I think he was nervous getting under the car.
They grow quickly, so enjoy the time you have with your kids.

Neat! I agree.. Great way to bond. My son will be 5 in May and already agreed that we will be riding in it every day starting next week!
Its hard to convince my wife it is safe though. 2 seater and all. I have a car seat, and you can have a child in the front of a two seater, assuming there is no airbag, which there obviously is not.
No highway driving. Here is my commute. 1 mile to work, 1 mile home. I typically drive from home to work in the morning, then pick my son up at school (about 1 mile) then drive back to work, then drive home. Basically 4 1 mile in town trips in a small tourist town in south east Wisconsin. Average speed is about 25-30MPH.
It's great to get him involved early. My 9 year old son enjoys nothing more than spending a weekend day working on cars. Right now we are doing our Triumph TR6 interior, but this past winter he helped me replace the rear spring and trailing arms on the 71 roadster. It is a great opportunity to teach him how to use tools safely.
Ever since we took the motorhome to the track and had all of the kids (3 of the little buggers now) where they could watch me run the road course, my 3 year old only wants to ride in the 80. He calls it "the race car" - zero interest in the 68, but any time I say I'm going to the store or something he always asks if he can go with me and if we can take the race car. Heh.

HA its like looking in a mirror, I did the SAME thing when I was a kid (Im 19 so its wasnt too long ago) but I HAD to help dad do something EVERY saturday and sunday, I would run my hand down his vette when I would walk by and he would tell me "dont even think about it" haha Future Corvette Owner is Right
Thanks Guys! His name is Christopher, I think we will be going to the summer car shows, and a sunday swap meet hes big enough to put in the red wagon for a couple of hours. My wife says no to the car seat in the vette, Ill work on that one
It's pretty special to have this car to share. He wants it when I'm done which is fine, but I'm pretty sure it holds a totally different meaning. So far it's only been good times though and I figure that's what's important!
