Default Duct work tape concerns...ideas/input please.

I need to know what types of tape to seal the

ductwork joints with?

I have the foam rubber seals from Doc Rebuild.

Will the "duck-tape" crack and loose its stickyness?

Is foil tape better?

Comments and ideas....

Thanks-Dave

Mine still had the factory duct tape and it seemed to be just off the shelf duct tape.

Home Depot has a weather strip product that will work pretty well, its 1/2" wide foam with sticky on one side. Clean the area your going to stick it on with thinner or acetone and stick it on there. Works pretty good for sealing the ducts together

I've used aluminum tape, the same used in place of duct tape for home ducting. You'll never have a problem! Works great and doesn't dry out. It'll be a pain beyond belief if you ever want to remove it though...

If you care how the ducting looks when you pull the dash panels, you could put felt 'seals' on the inside of the "receiving" duct piece. I don't believe that the factory put any tape on those joints. If you don't care how it looks, use regular duct tape.
