I decided to get out of the cold of the north east this winter in South America and currntly have an apartment in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Today we saw a a red 73 vert going down one of the main avenues! There is also a C4 listed in the paper - a 95 with 44k kilometers for the equivelent of $62k US (187,030 pesos) and a C6 Z06 for $140k US.

Can't wait to get home and drive my 70 vert! I will say there are more 60-70s Ford Falcons and old Chevy Nova SS then I have ever seen.

they probably purchased the old molds for the falcon and nova from ford and gm plants here when they discarded them. I know the VW beetle was built in south america up until like the '80's or 90's so their are alot of VW's down there but they are made in south america not germany

The VW Beetle was made in Mexico until 2003. They were made along side of the new beetle in the same factory.

I have heard about the nova meaning but have forgot - they have a different name here and most have Super Sport badging but bench seats and collum shifts. Also saw some with 250 instead of 350 on the fender? Also the falcons mostly have different front and rear light assemblys and the newer ones (late 60's early 70s) have a name like tarus, also a fair number of Rancheros. Many old VW Beatlles

I will take notice tomorrow of what is on the name plate as well as some pics - there are a few in my neighborhood and see what is on them. I will post the pics in case anyone cares - wish there were more Vets to share. I have mostly seen Super Sport and they are just old cars here not re-done.

I travel to S. America often as well and I am very surprised at the number of old classics I see down there. In Vina del Mar (Chile) there was what looked like to be an all original big block Camaro. I don't know much about Camaros but it was a 67~69 body style and had 396 on the hood and looked like a survivor....very well taken car of without a spec of rust and paint looked to be original. It was sitting there parrellel parked on the street in this residential area. I could not believe my eyes as even inside looked perfect.

Last year when I was in Chile some guy had a 69 L46 for sale. I saw pics of it online while in Chile at it had several things not correct looking like bubba put what ever he had available to him to keep her running all these years.
