I have a 1977 vette..and redoing the interior. I but back the bezel and the center console. bolted everything in place and the shifter hits the side of the console plate when putting the car in reverse. The plate stops the shifter from putting the car in reverse. Is there an adjustment on the shifter??? I do not know if the shifter hit before
I redid the interior becase it was trashed and nothing was bolted down.....Iany help will be appricated I do not know a lot about cars in general and very little about corvettes.. Could the trans be out of alignment?? HELP please
I've seen at least one other thread in the last 2 months with your same problem. You could do a search for them, but in general, you most likely only need to adjust your shifter console to the left more. There's not a lot of clearance on that side anyway ... the black paint is worn off of my console insert on the left side where the leather boot rubs between the trim and the shifter.
Good luck.
Also, you'll get more help if you complete your profile ... that way other members will know a little about you, where you live, and what you drive.
