Actually the blue 68 L88 that Mr Cage owned was a different car. The car that sold at Bonhams was a two owner car until it sold last year. Neat car.

Just to clarify, my vert - 414362 came out of the factory 974, STD but was repainted red quite some time ago. Wish it was still the original color. Maybe someday I'll put it back the way it came off the line.

Keep up the great work International Blue. Here is some information about my #400164 convertible.

427/400 Turbohydramatic Polar white with gunmetal interior

Anybody out there know of a 427/400 automatic earlier than my 164?

Default 1968 Corvette List

Please add my 1968 427/390hp convertible to your list.

Ser # 194678S405338.

Options: A01, A31, C05, C07, G81, J50, L36, M40, N36, N40, PO1, PT6, U15, U69. Tank sticker to prove.

Build date on trim plate: D 24, Exterior color code: 974 - Rally Red, Interior color code: 407 - Red vinyl.

Still has original number matching drivetrain (motor, tranny, rearend) that it was born with on Nov.24/1967. This Vette is alive and well and still turning heads in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada.

Previously, I owned a 1968 Corvette convertible in the early 1990's (ser # 194678S400245) 327/300HP 4 speed. British Metallic Racing Green). Car is still located here in Regina, Sask, Canada. See it around sometimes on the street.

Long live the 68 Vette!!!

Default Listed VIN, but need help with history

My vette is listed, VIN 194678S405467 but I could use any help with the car's history. I purchased the car as a vintage race car project in progress. Only oral history provided by PO was that the car was in Wyoming as some kind of race car, sold to a restorer on east coast (Virginia) who wanted to restore to street trim because it was originally a big bore convertible with air conditioning, but lost interest and sold to PO in Colorado. Car is interesting in that the original tail lights are removed and early model Camaro lights nicely fiberglassed in as replacements. When we cut the fiberglass to install the front roll hoop of the roll bar we discovered a prior weld mark where a front roll hoop had previously been installed, possibly a stong indication of prior race history. Also I am told that the car has period correct competition fender flares. Sorry, but I have not figured how to insert pics yet, but car is listed with pics on Denver craiglist (search 1968 corvette) and the Rocky Mountain Vintage Racing (www.rmvr.com) web sites.
This is not a cheap attempt to sell the car, but would appreciate any history about this car. Someone, somewhere has to know something? Feel free to PM me with response or email direct to pegandbobm@aol.com
Thx
