For those interested the 1968 datafile is continuing. There are many restored cars that are not listed, this list is mainly developed from sales, ebay and local shows. I will be at Carlisle this year to spot and chat, but the 1968 list of cars is below. The information on each car and its condition is in the database, and some of these are wrecks only. The idea was to eventually account for every 1968 Corvette as best as could be determined. Some of these cars are overseas as well. In any case this is a list of 68 corvettes....the few that have the "x"s in the last couple digits are in the proper sequence, but unfortunatly could not be verified exactly. The x in the coupe or vert spot is because the configuration was unknown. There are several 68 verts with coupe bodies and vice versa...about 1200+ entries...

The database is my own, and is something I decided to create based on my interest in understanding the mortality rate of the 1968 Corvette. Any car on ebay is added to the list as it appears.

I understand the trademarking of the term "survivor", however I disagree with its removal from common usage and speech based on the whim of a particular corvette restorer. I can still use the term, as I am not atempting to market a car, I am attempting to make a reader understand that the car is extant. The US Coast Guard may find his definition and trademark humorous as much as I do.

By the way, as soon as I trademark the word "the" any usage in any text or speech will be charged .01 cent to my paypal account. That way I can retire.

Thank you for the replies and the interest, as always adding 68's is a bit of fun as I really want to one day be able (with the other 68 owners) to point at our cars and actually know how rare and special they are. A quick look at the 68's history defines the evolving nature of Corvette better than any other year.

There are some really interesting cars for sale right now as well, on EBAY # 15135 a white 972 red 407 interior coupe that seems to be a really great example, and for those in need of a project in the UK(!!!) a really interesting Black/possibly black leather 427/390 4 Airconditioned convertible. Super rare for a Black 427 air vert! In any case always neat cars popping up all over. I am still in the process of verifying the 900 code on that one though.

Please PM me with any 68's you would like to list, but include trim plate info as thats really kind of neat. Current color config and condition,. and of course powertrain...Restored cars are great, but for the thing to mean anything, all cars, especialy ones written off are important!!!!

Re 16909, the coupe in my old stomping grounds of Orange County, CA. I lived off of Nohl Ranch Road and went to Canyon....

Figure on the inside of the driver door jamb a plate that has the original codes for interior and paint, please send if you can, as well as a date code, I 22 or I 23 is my guess. May 22 or 23! In other words this is your birthday week! That means on that day in May 1968, your body was completed and sent to the line to meet the frame destined by the build sheet ordered by dealer or individual. Completion date at the end of the month, probably 27-30th or so.

Just the one, put me at 405486. Birthday is D28. Not sure what the original rearend ratio was, but it is now 4:11.
The only option is AM/FM radio and the 350hp. Current motor is a 010 replacement block. Car is driver condition with new paint.
